The purpose of the Sterling Scholar Award is to publicly recognize and encourage the pursuit of excellence in scholarship, community service, leadership and citizenship. Students not only have to excel in a specific academic area, they also have to show extraordinary leadership and participate in meaningful service in both our school and community. These students have taken challenging courses and refined their expertise in their specific area of study, and they have excelled in these courses to prepare for college and their future careers. These students have likely been sleep deprived as they have put in lots of late nights and early mornings studying, working, serving, and leading. While these students put forth significant effort to accomplish all of these things, they were also supported by great parents and dedicated teachers who encouraged them and provided opportunities and support for these students so that they could be successful in pursuit of this award.
Congratulations to all the applicants and to the 2018-2019 Sterling Scholar Award Winners.
