Principal Jensen's Updates
We here at Corner Canyon sincerely hope that you are staying healthy and safe during these extraordinary times. We will continue to provide you with updates throughout the coming weeks, but here's what you need to know now.
School Hours During Closure: The main office, student center, and media center are open for drop in visits from students and parents on Tuesdays from 9-11am, during the school closure. Students may check out materials from the media center, pick up hard copies of assignments if available, and drop off completed assignments during this time. Keep in mind that teachers may not be in the building. Please reach out to teachers, counselors, and administrators individually If you need to meet with them specifically. Social distancing guidelines, as issued by the Salt Lake County Department of Health, are being observed. While our fields and courts are currently open for public use, pick up games and team sports are not allowed. Students should not be coming to the school for any reason other than to pick up or drop off work, and should not congregate on school grounds or in the school parking lots. All district offices and schools will be closed April 6-10 for Spring Break. End of 3rd Quarter: 3rd Quarter will end on March 27, 2020. All student work should be submitted to teachers by 3:00pm on March 27th. 4th Quarter will begin on March 30, 2020 (B-Day) and will end on May 29, 2020. Online Instruction: All new content instruction for 4th quarter will be delivered via Canvas. We will be following an A/B schedule for 4th quarter and students are expected to be interacting with teachers from 8am to 2:30pm every Monday through Friday. Students should be checking Canvas and their CSDDocs email daily for instructions and assignments. Teachers may also be scheduling live sessions via Zoom or GoogleMeet during their normal class hours. If you have any questions regarding instruction, please reach out to teachers. Spring Events: All activities have been cancelled until May 1, 2020. Updates will be published if events will be rescheduled for later dates. Utah Aspire Plus: The Utah State Board of Education voted to pause end-of-year testing and state accountability this year. Therefore, the Utah Aspire Plus for grades 9-10 is no longer required. Advanced Placement (AP) Exams: As of March 20th, high school students will be able to take their Advanced Placement (AP) exams online, the College Board announced. The test administrator says it is working to build online exams shortened to reflect what classes have been able to cover this year. Students will get to pick one of two testing dates, which will be announced April 3. At that time, the College Board also will reveal the types of questions that will appear on the online exams.

what is the plan for graduating Seniors that are still working on credits to be able to graduate. Is this closure going to impact any of that short of the student not keeping up on the posted classwork?
